Our classroom transformed into an apple orchard, complete with apple trees, a market stand, a cash register, and plenty of pretend apples!
Through dramatic play, little learners explored counting, sorting, early literacy, communication, and problem-solving while taking on the roles of orchard workers, shoppers, and cashiers.
Learning through play is always at the heart of what we do!
One of my favorite things about dramatic play is that it doesn't have to be expensive or complicated!
We created our apple trees using cardboard, paint, and a little creativity! We added Velcro and red pom-poms so our little learners could actually pick apples from the trees.
At our apple pie station, we used felt pieces so students could follow a visual recipe and create their own pretend apple pies. We also included an Apple Orchard Order Form to naturally bring writing into their play.
